What is a trainer pass?
A trainer pass is a monthly price a gym charges an independent trainer to bring their own clients onto its floor. Instead of paying for each hour, the trainer pays once a month and trains during the hours the gym allows.
What it costs
In the San Gabriel Valley gyms we’ve spoken with, owners quoted $675 to $800 a month for a pass, and $25 to $30 for a single hour or session (five owners, September 2026). Each gym sets its own.
Pass or per hour?
A pass suits a trainer with a steady weekly book at one gym: the price holds month to month. Paying per hour or per session suits a trainer still building a book, or one who works in more than one place.
